Day Spa Academy is committed to providing an educational experience that exceeds the state’s standards and the opportunity for students interested in the massage therapy field to gain the skills, knowledge and experience necessary to obtain a Massage Therapy License and become competent, care-centered clinicians. Our programs’ emphasis is on reinforcing the knowledge necessary to understand the workings of the human body, locating and isolating the appropriate muscles and the clinical techniques to effectively treat soft tissue dysfunction and injuries. In addition to the advanced clinical techniques, students will learn many other Therapeutic Modalities that can help guide them in the direction they desire as they begin their career. Our program reinforces the use of proper body mechanics and self care, ensuring that our students will be able to extend the longevity of their career as Licensed Massage Practitioners. Effective communication, knowledge of local and state laws and an emphasis on professional ethics are included in our program as well.
Day Spa Academy’s Massage Therapy Program consists of 750 hours. The study of Human Anatomy and Physiology, Kinesiology and Biomechanics, Medical Terminology and Pathology are our primary science courses. Massage Theory and Practice courses, including Clinical Massage, Hydrotherapy and other Therapeutic Modalities are designed to teach the students a variety of applications for massage therapy. Our business classes, Professional Ethics for Massage Practitioners, Interpersonal Communication, Safety and Sanitation and Business Ethics and Laws are designed to develop health care professionals who are dedicated to the safe, legal and ethical practice of massage therapy. Our Business Practices course will also emphasize effective advertising; marketing and public relations strategies that students can learn to apply to their massage therapy practice helping to propel their careers to greater heights.
